Assistant Head of School

RCA is seeking a motivated, genuine, and mission-aligned leader to serve as Assistant Head of School. The Assistant Head of School position will assist the Head of School in the final preparation efforts to open the school in August of 2027 with an initial student population of 486 students in grades K-8 (adding a grade level each year until the school population is 702 students in grades K-12). During the preparation year and in the initial years of opening, the Assistant Head of School will be responsible for all operations – front office, transportation, food service, safety, etc. Congruent with a classical education model, the Assistant Head of School will also teach (after the initial start-up year) at least one course each semester.

Kindergarten – 6th Grade Teachers:

RCA is seeking mission-aligned elementary educators at all grade-levels K-6. Applicants should familiarize themselves with the purposes of classical education and the mission and vision of RCA – and be enthused about reaching for the excellence inherent in these high goals.

7th/8th Grade Teachers:

RCA is seeking applicants who have the ability to teach and inspire learning in at least two of the following fields: Mathematics, Science, English Grammar, Writing Composition, Literature, History, and Moral & Political Philosophy.

Music Teacher:

RCA is seeking a teacher who will elevate music instruction beyond the status quo of typical music education to its proper place as an indispensable part of a liberal arts education – guiding students to see that music is central to how humans experience the world and integral to perceiving the wonders of order and beauty. Our music curriculum is focused on building an appreciation for great music, cultivating musical skills, learning music history, and understanding music theory – all while connecting music to the curriculum students experience in the academic classroom. Our thorough curricular resources will aid in this endeavour. This position will teach multiple grade levels.

Latin Teacher:

RCA is seeking a mission-aligned educator who is inspired by the vision and purposes of American classical education to instruct our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in Latin; growing with the position to teach 9th and above as the school expands a grade-level each year. As an integral part of the classical curriculum, Latin adds a unique richness to our students’ academic, historical, and linguistic experience.  The educator hired for this position must be a defender of the practical, academic, and cultural benefits of learning this flagship language of Western civilization.

Physical Education Teacher:

RCA is seeking a teacher who will elevate physical education beyond the status quo of typical PE, to its proper place as an essential component of developing mind, heart, and body – guiding students to experience the satisfaction of training their bodies beyond what they believe is possible; act virtuously, justly, and courageously in the heat of competition, whether in victory or defeat; appreciate the beauty of the human body when one trains its parts to work in harmony with each other in physical activity.

Art Teacher:

RCA is seeking an individual who will elevate art instruction beyond the practical acquisition of various artistic skills to include familiarizing students with the great works of art throughout human civilization. We want our students to see things that are beautiful, to understand them (at least in part), and be moved by them.  Our thorough curricular resources will aid in this endeavour.

Spanish Teacher:

RCA is seeking a mission-aligned individual who is inspired by the vision and purposes of American classical education to teach Spanish to our Kindergarten – 5th grade students. Spanish classes will be held in approximately 30 minute time spans twice per week with each class. The RCA Spanish teacher will be expected to make the study of Spanish as immersive as possible, and to make grammar and culture an integral part of instruction. The goal of Spanish language instruction at RCA is to inspire students with a sense of wonder and beauty about another language, and other cultures and ways of life, and thereby help them to know their own culture and language a little better.

Literacy Coordinator:

RCA is seeking a mission-aligned educator with extensive early literacy training and teaching experience. Applicants should have experience teaching Literacy Essentials, a literacy curriculum printed and distributed by Hillsdale College. The primary responsibility of RCA’s Literacy Coordinator will be to oversee the correct delivery of Literacy Essentials to all elementary students, to monitor all K-6 students’ progress toward mastery of essential literacy skills, and to organize appropriate interventions to assure all students acquire these vital aptitudes.

Administrative Assistant / Receptionist

We are seeking a mission-aligned individual to manage the daily affairs of Riverton’s front office; to be a kind and cheerful anchor to all the students, parents, faculty and staff; to promote the school’s mission and vision to the community as the frontlines, in-person ambassador of the school. This position reports to the Assistant Head of School and encompasses the following responsibilities:

• • Reception of in-person parents and visitors
  • Answering phone calls
  • Coordination of volunteers
  • Substitute coordination
  • Minor nursing/medical: band aids, ice, approved medication
  • Leave documentation for all faculty and staff
  • Assist registrar with PowerSchool data
  • Assist school leaders with administrative tasks
